The Diocese of Albany Catholic Schools achieved system accreditation from AdvancED in 2016. In November 2018, AdvancED changed its name to Cognia as a result of a merger. Currently, our twenty-one Catholic schools fall under the umbrella of system accreditation through Cognia and the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement. This designation serves as an acknowledgement that our schools meet a certain standard of quality worthy of accreditation.
We have been preparing for a visit from a Cognia Engagement Review Team, which has been scheduled for Sunday, April 3, 2022 through Wednesday, April 6, 2022. This continuous improvement journey has been going on since 2016, but you will notice an increase in activities over the next several months in preparation of the visit. You should also be aware that all schools have at least one representative on the Diocesan Accreditation Steering Committee (DASC). Our DASC member works with me to ensure that the process at our school remains on the correct path. You can always speak with me or our DASC representative if you have questions about the accreditation process.
Our ask today is that you take some time to complete a brief survey, which can be found at the following link:
https://eprovesurveys.advanc-ed.org/surveys/#/action/183016/p36650
The purpose of this survey is to find out what your family’s beliefs and opinions are about engagement with our school. All respondents will be participating anonymously, and we ask you to complete the assessment as honestly as you can. You may have filled out a Cognia survey last year and may be asking yourself if it is necessary to repeat the process. Your perspective may have changed since last year and comparing results from year to year assists us in developing strategies for our continuous improvement process. The Survey will close on Friday, January 21, 2022.
